Hepatitis NSW is committed to raising hep B awareness. We are providing grants of up to $4,000 to support community organisations to run health promotion activities with Aboriginal, Chinese or Korean communities.

These activities will:

  • raise awareness of hepatitis B transmission risks, prevention, and vaccination
  • raise awareness of hepatitis B testing, care, and treatment options
  • raise the profile of HNSW and the grant organisation and the relevant services they provide.

The following Chinese community grants have been initiated:

LIVER AND YOUR HEALTH SEMINAR SERIES

Australian Asian Cultural Association

Liver & Your Health is a three-week education program that will be held in Hornsby from March to April 2017. It comprises of four talks, three radio interviews, a feature on Australian Chinese TV, and an expo.

The talks will be in Mandarin language, and are on topics that are relevant to the Chinese community. Refreshments will be provided.

HAPPY LIVER, HEP B FREE

Chinese Australian Services Society

Happy Liver, Hep B Free will be carried out in Burwood, Hurstville and Auburn from April to May 2017. It will involve three education sessions. Audience members will have the opportunity to access hepatitis B testing services, and take resources and merchandise home with them.

The talks will be in Mandarin language. Refreshments will be provided.
