Primary care practitioners in the Bega Valley region can help to improve the health outcomes of people living with hepatitis C and reduce a patient’s risk of developing advanced liver disease. This update will provide GPs with the knowledge to engage their patients in care, perform investigations to assess for advanced liver disease and prescribe new hepatitis C treatments in accordance with the PBS requirements.
