“We need to ensure that investment is going into peers and people with lived experience, these people are best placed to be able to move the fight for hep C-free forward, decrease discrimination and encourage people to come to testing so that many more thousands of people can live hep C free.”
Tracey, Justice Health NSW
New hep C treatment and cure became widely accessible in Australia ten years ago on March 1, 2016. Australians living with hep C gained equal access to all oral, interferon-free direct-acting antiviral (DAA) treatments, achieving cure rates exceeding 95%. Now in 2026, we ask community members what ten years means to them. #HepCURED10Years
