About the competition (entries now closed)

Are you living with hepatitis B?
Are you living in NSW? Can you write in English?
Share your personal story about hepatitis B and you could win cash prizes!

Hepatitis NSW is holding a second Hepatitis B Writing Competition, after the very successful competition in 2021.

Stories will be chosen because they help raise awareness of general hepatitis B knowledge and the importance of regular hepatitis B monitoring.

Eligibility

The competition is open to people who meet all the following criteria:

Currently living in New South Wales as of 31st of May 2025
18 years or older
Living with chronic hepatitis B

How to enter

ENTRIES CLOSE on Saturday 31th May 2025
SEND TO: [email protected]

Each entry must be a personal story about hepatitis B
You must live in NSW, Australia as of 31st May 2025
All stories must be at least 600 words long and written in English
Stories to be sent as a Word or PDF document, to [email protected]
Winners will get cash prizes for their writing!

What are the prizes?

1ST PLACE $250
2ND PLACE $200 for two people
3RD PLACE $150 for three people
Eligible entries will get rewarded

Writing guidelines

We invite you to share your personal hepatitis B story.
Examples of what you could write about are:

The time and place of your diagnosis
How you felt when you were told you have hepatitis B
The clinical advice you received regarding treatment, monitoring, etc
Your experiences with stigma and discrimination, if any
How hepatitis B has impacted your life
Any advice you might give to others about hepatitis B
